For this post, Danny suggested that we give our readers a chance to learn more about each speller. From there, the idea evolved into an interview where spellers got a chance to ask each other questions. Some questions sparked such big conversations that we'll save them for future posts of their own and the rest are presented here as a Q&A.
We had so much fun learning more about our spellers and hope you enjoy their questions, answers, and insights!
What makes you happy? - Joe
Jack: My family is my happiness.
Rose: Spelling my true thoughts makes me happy.
Maudey: I am happy when I feel love.
Christopher: Happiest when I make my mom laugh saying silly things when I spell.
Joe: Having music that listening to soothes my brain.
Alex D: Always excited to see Rose.
Chad: Spelling
What is a place you are most at peace? - Rose
Sam: I am at peace in the car.

Joe: My home.
Maudey: Anywhere really quiet.
Sam: Seeing my calm mom get excited.
Chad: Outside.
Alex D: At the hill with Rose
Jack: I feel most at peace in the water. I feel like my truest self in the ocean.
Christopher: I believe my OCD makes it hard to have peace but I am most close to peace when having McDonalds. Just kidding. When with my family.
Rose: Laying on the earth in the summer sun.
What really is your most good memory? - Maudey
Joe: Learning to do RPM with Soma.
Jack: My best happy memory is the first time I went skiing.
Rose: Meeting my sister Cora.
Sam: All times with other spellers.
Christopher: Every minute I spent in Italy.
Maudey: Having time with mom.
Alex D: It is hard to choose.
Was your particular voice something you found after spelling or always in your head to you? - Danny
Maudey: Great question. Yes, my voice is the same in my head as in typing.
Jack: My voice has always been the same.
Joe: Danny, I kind of think both those are true for me. My voice has always been my voice. I think spelling made me refine it. My thoughts have not changed but before they were only for me. Now my goal is to make others understand so the way I express them is different.
Rose: Wow. Story time. Joe that is exactly how I feel. Sometimes I think in colors. Spelling translates them into words. That is my story.
Sam: Applying that logic each person thinks in other ways then really has to translate it for others to perceive it.
Christopher: Love that answer, Sam. I agree that each of us has our own internal language. Expressing it means translating it for others.
Danny: My voice in my mind is the same but it flows easier.
Alex D: Feel like this is hard to explain. Always think in love. Like emotions not words. Others explained it well.
Who is your best friend? - Jack

Sam: Can't have only one.
Alex D: Rose always.
Christopher: My sisters. Have to say both of them or I will be in trouble.
Jack: My best friend in school is Maudey. The best friend outside of school is Janel.
Rose: My best friend is my sister.
Joe: I love all my friends.
Maudey: I feel like I am lucky to have many good friends.
Who is your biggest supporter? - Joe
Jack: My mom is my biggest supporter.
Rose: I have so many but Alex is the best.
Sam: Myself and my mom.
Maudey: My mom has supported my always.
Christopher: My whole family support me. I am very lucky.
Joe: Mom always takes my side.
Alex D: All my family
What makes you laugh? - Christopher

Rose: I get happy with others' happiness. That makes me laugh.
Jack: I laugh when I answer a funny question.
Joe: Maudey makes me laugh the most.
Chad: Mom.
Maudey: Little kids make me laugh. They are so funny.
Christopher: Making other people laugh!
Alex: Feeling others I love at peace.
