The Speller Space
Welcome to The Speller Space Blog. We are spelling these posts on letterboards with our CRPs [Communication Regulation Partners]. Because we all have motor challenges, spelling is our most reliable form of communication. Our speech might be unreliable or might not happen much at all. It is hard for some people to understand that our intelligence is unaffected because we look or sound different. Hopefully you can see from these writings that we are here and that we have a lot to say.

The Speller Space is a place for spellers to learn and grow together with peers. We all use alternate forms of communication where we spell out our thoughts on letterboards or keyboards. Here we can be our true selves. Everyone believes in each other and it is a place where they can be a community.

The Speller Space is a place where we can learn and participate in interesting things. There are academic classes and things like cooking and fitness and gardening. We can learn things right for our age and intelligence. We are smart. We are dedicated to improving and advocating for ourselves.

We decided to start this blogging adventure because we want to be advocates for autistic people everywhere. It is true that all autists are different. We can only speak to our own experiences but we hope people can find it interesting and inspiring. We hope you enjoy reading our words and that it inspires you to advocate for spellers too.
